40,000sf Hangar / Office Building

Benchmark kicked off the high speed construc-tion of a state-of- the-art, 40,000sf hangar and offices facility for Northern Holdings Inc. on May 12th 2010.
While the project design stalled in permitting and high client expectations of early completion Benchmark took advan-tage of the delay by commencing an acceler-ated site excavation and trucking program.
Over 2,000 belly dumps hauled materials along both sides of the Ted Stevens Anchorage In-ternational Airport Run-way in 10 calendar days.
This strategy paid off greatly in the end as Benchmark was able to hand over the building on December 15th, a mere 31 weeks after the first day of excavation.
During construction Benchmark's team assisted the clients desires to improve the design to fit their needs in dramatic ways without impacting the schedule. Finished tenant space was increased by 6,300sf and due to detailed involvement by the client and top notch specialty contractors the team was able to make these user refinements without major impacts to project.
The total cost includes development of the 5 acre site, 10' SIDA perimeter, design & construction.
